Abstract: As the highlight of the Punk.London Festival in commemoration of 40 years of punk, Joe Corre, son of Malcolm Maclaran and Vivienne Westwood, is scheduled to burn £5 million worth of his punk memorabilia collection in protest of punk's co-option by the mainstream. This article argues that this is not only a rather selfish publicity stunt, but also a contradicts the real essence of punk.
