dc.description.abstract | First paragraph: Ce chapitre s'intéresse à la conservation et au bien-être des singes hominidés et des gibbons. Il examine leur répartition et les conditions environnementales dans lesquelles ils vivent en Afrique et en Asie. Ces informations proviennent de diverses sources, notamment du Portail A.P.E.S. (http://apesportal.eva.mpg.de), et peuvent servir aux décideurs et aux parties prenantes pour mettre en place des politiques éclairées et une planification efficace. Même si certaines parties du rapport font référence à des taxons précis de singes hominidés et de gibbons, les discussions s'orientent vers des questions qui touchent généralement tous les grands singes et ne se limitent pas nécessairement à certaines espèces. Étant donné que la qualité des données et leur disponibilité varient en fonction des taxons, des régions, voire même des pays, nous n'abordons que les cas disposant de données fiables. Le présent chapitre ne couvre que partiellement les gibbons, les données recueillies sur cette famille étant toujours insuffisantes. Cependant, des études supplémentaires seront menées d'ici la prochaine édition de La planète des grands singes pour veiller à ce que les gibbons soient bien représentés à l'avenir. | en_UK |
