Abstract: F&uuml;nf europ&auml;ische Rechtssysteme nahmen am Forschungsprojekt zur elektronischen &Uuml;berwachung (E&Uuml;) teil: Belgien, England und Wales, Deutschland, die Niederlande und Schottland. Neben der begleitenden Beobachtung aller f&uuml;r den E&Uuml;-Prozess relevanten Aspekte (insgesamt &uuml;ber eine Dauer von 75 Tagen) wurden in diesen f&uuml;nf L&auml;ndern ausf&uuml;hrliche Literaturanalysen, sowie 190 Interviews mit Entscheidungstr&auml;gern und Praktikern, die im E&Uuml;-Prozess involviert sind, durchgef&uuml;hrt. Bei &uuml;bergreifender Betrachtung aller f&uuml;nf Rechtssysteme zeigt sich, dass Electronic Monitoring in jeder Phase des Strafprozesses eingesetzt wird; f&uuml;r die einzelnen Rechtssysteme an sich gilt dies indes nicht. In allen Rechtssystemen werden aber zumindest mehrere E&Uuml;-Modelle praktiziert. Zun&auml;chst wird deutlich, dass in allen Rechtssystemen Radiofrequenz (RF)-Technik zum Einsatz kommt. Zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt ist Schottland das einzige Rechtssystem, das nicht von GPS-Technologie Gebrauch macht &ndash; obgleich dies hier bereits in Erw&auml;gung gezogen wurde. E&Uuml; wird in allen Rechtssystemen regelm&auml;&szlig;ig mit Bew&auml;hrungsaufsicht verkn&uuml;pft, allerdings kann es in Belgien, England und Schottland auch als alleinstehende Ma&szlig;nahme verh&auml;ngt werden.
