Welcome to STORRE: Stirling Online Research Repository
STORRE holds a continually growing collection of the full text of the research outputs of University of Stirling authors. It includes published journal articles, conference papers, book chapters, working papers, etc. As a result of the University policy encouraging open access, the repository will continue to develop as an important source of free full text access to Stirling's research.
STORRE also holds the full text of all University of Stirling research theses from September 2006 onwards; covering PhDs, Masters of Philosophy and Masters by Research plus Professional Higher Degrees by Research. A small collection of our older theses is also included, and is continually added to, due to our involvement in the British Library's EThOS service.

ABSTRACT Objective To summarize and evaluate evidence pertaining to the clinical, genetic, histopathological, and neuroimaging correlates of cognitive and behavioral dysfunction in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Methodology We comprehensively reviewed the literature on cognitive and behavioral manifestations of ALS, narrating findings from both cross-sectional and longitudinal studies. We discussed knowledge gaps in the evidence base and key limitations affecting studies to date, befor...

Binocular disparity is an important cue to three-dimensional shape. We assessed the contribution of this cue to the reliability and consistency of depth in stereoscopic photographs of natural scenes. Observers viewed photographs of cluttered scenes while adjusting a gauge figure to indicate the apparent three-dimensional orientation of the surfaces of objects. The gauge figure was positioned on the surfaces of objects at multiple points in the scene, and settings were made under monocular and...

Nutritional programming (NP) is a tool for developing adaptive changes that can be expressed in adulthood by exposing individuals to a stimulus early in life. This study investigated the interactions between nutritional programming (NP), genotype and gut microbiota in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) across the life cycle, to potentially improve feed efficiency and fish health. Approximately 5100 eggs from six families characterised by high (HP) or low pigment retention (LP) were incubated and d...

In recent years museums and heritage sites have been encouraged to form deeper, more democratic and transparent relationships with their diverse publics, arguably requiring a different range of skills and ways of working which use workers’ emotions. However, the experience and use of emotions in this work is only just beginning to be discussed within the sector and in academic research, and there remains a limited understanding of the role of emotions in creating resilient and sustainable org...

Purpose The esports industry has experienced a dynamic growth. In this context, a significant evolution in the logic of corporate social responsibility (CSR) can be observed, particularly in the digital sphere. By extending Carroll's three-dimensional model to include corporate digital responsibility (CDR), this paper addresses a key research question: How does CSR evolve and develop in the dynamic digital industry of esports? Design/methodology/approach This study employed a qualitative mu...
